I used this fabric to practice the trelis 2 step before I made Elizabeth's dress. After I finished that dress, I finished this one. I also made pantaloons instead of a regular diaper cover since Sadie might wear this for Easter and Easter is so early this year. March is still winter in Michigan.
I just have to say that I am amazed by your talent! I don't sew and am not creative in the least bit. I always say that when God was passing out the creative genes, I must have been in the food line.

Ellen,
Smocked dresses are like this one, where fabric is gathered into many tiny pleats and embroidered on.

Hi Amie,
Just came across your blog when I googled "Sadie Smocking Blogs". I was trying to get my own blog to come up.
I also have a Sadie. She will be one in April--looks like yours is almost the same age.
I also love many of the same authors you do--esp. Montgomery and Grisham. I look forward to visiting your blog again. Love Sadie's Easter Outfit!
